Thief
Someone who is generally nimble but agile, uses daggers or sort swords to attack with. They have high speed, accuracy and evasion but due to their light armour, they have low defence. The ability ‘Steal’ Is most common amongst them which causes them to transfer an item or a piece to their inventory. A very useful thing that they can do is to disarm traps and find hidden path ways.
Black Mage
Black mages usually wear long black or blue robes and wide rimmed hats. Their outfits can remind people of the outfit of a wizard. Their weapons can consist of rods or small daggers and usually attack with attack magic since their physical attack is usually weak. Black mages seem to be the opposite of White mages in their spells.
Red Mage
The Red Mage has the abilities of Black and White mage but has the combat of a Warrior. They are not that good at either mage types since in general they can only use a handful of lower level spells. They can use double cast which is where they can cast two spells in a row. Not only that but they can use MP restoring abilities. A red cape can be common in what they wear but not always.
White Mage
White mages have the opposite spells to a black mage, but can have one or two attack spells. They use defensive spells on the party to heal them, revive them and can cure them. As I put before, they have one or two attack spells, but they can be weak. They can’t wield heavy armour or weaponry so their primary support is the attack of others. Sometimes the white mage can be incorporated with the Summoner since they both wear a white clock or robe of some kind, which has long sleeves and/or a hood. Their primary weapon is a hammer or staff.
Monk
The Monk is a master of material arts and bare hand fighting. They can sometimes have gloves covering their hands all the same. In other cases they can have meditative techniques to heal others or improve their power. As well as that they can counter against physical attacks. Monks can also be classed as black belts as well.
Warrior
A person with expert swordsmanship also has some powerful armoury and weaponry. (S)He has high strength and defence status and is a well-rounded physical combatant. The Holy Knight, Paladin, Dark Knight and Samurai are also special featured sword wielding classes.
Samurai
Samurai’s are Japanese based fighters who use a Katana, which they use both hands on the hand to maximum damage to the enemy. They can use coins to throw to cause damage, Fast Draw to try and kill the enemy in one hit and blade catch which has evasion in it.
Ninja
The Ninja tends to be both powerful and fast, unfortunately, as they unable to gain a dexterity, they can’t wear heavy armour. They use Ninja swords, Katana’s, boomerangs and Knives. Usually, they posses the ability to Throw which they use a Shuriken to throw powerfully at an enemy.
Berserker
Berserkers rely on their physical strength and agility to defeat their opponents. They can use axes and hammers as their weapons and can be in permanent ‘berserk’-status. Often they can be controllable but sometimes use berserk commands to use more power but less control.
Summoner
Using their ‘Summoning abilities’ Summoner’s can call on powerful beasts to assist them in battle. Theses beasts can protect the party, aid their fighting skills or just aid them in anyway they can. As they can also use magic, Summoner’s are usually weak in physical attacks and can’t wear heavy armour so usually wear light robes. When they do attack they use staves or rods to do so.
Guardian
Someone who guards the Summoner that they are dedicated to protect, they ‘follow’ them around making sure that they don’t get hurt. Of course, now after Sin is gone, they don’t really do much guarding, but they can still hang around with their former Summoner. Other times they can just wander around.
Other
